Zimbabwe’s youth unemployment numbers are a siren. At the same time the country needs people who can mount a rail, terminate an MC4, plumb a drip line and explain a tariff to a village committee. Those two facts should have met years ago.
A solar or irrigation install is a short classroom with a wage attached. The next step is troubleshooting. The step after that is design. GSN is built so young technicians are not temporary labour around an imported expert — they are the expert pipeline.
What “youth-led” has to include
- Paid installation and maintenance roles, not only unpaid “exposure”.
- Women on tools and in client meetings, not only in the photo.
- Urban hydroponics and processing skills as well as rural arrays — cities eat too.
- Room to question a bad spec. Hierarchy that silences a 24-year-old on a roof will bury a fault.
Students and early-career people who want to work in this stack can say so on the interest form. We cannot hire everyone who writes. We do read for hunger and care.
